Well … after much frenzied planning and scheming, your SALIN Executive Committee was very, very pleased with the celebrations last Saturday night, commemorating ten years of the South Australian Library and Information Network!
The Gilbert Street Hotel provided a beautiful setting (private room, with balcony!) in which we were able to mingle and enjoy some nibbles and cocktails. Around fifty people attended, including previous members of the SALIN Executive Committee and two of our lovely and generous sponsors, Fleur Ryder from ProQuest and Jo-Anne Rivers from Ex Libris.
It was a privilege to hear from Robyn Ellard and Kate Sergeant, two of the founding members of SALIN, as they shared their memories of the formation of the group and its early years, and spoke of how their involvement with SALIN helped to boost them professionally.
Aaaaand … we launched our exciting project, the Zombies in Libraries calendar, and we unveiled our new-look website. (Yes, that’s right, the one you’re looking at right now!)
Our tenth anniversary soiree was a magnificent end to a productive and interesting year for your SALIN Executive Committee, and for those of you who joined us on the night – thank you for being a part of it!
If you’d like to have a look at our photos from the evening (snapped by the very professional Mark Frazer), some of them are in our photo gallery – otherwise, to see the lot, head to the SALIN Flickr page!
